Peter Gaston is a Fellow with The Performance Institute, leading PI’s technology-based performance support system initiatives and supporting PI’s work in strategic planning, performance management solutions, program planning and implementation management solutions, process improvement programs and continuous learning programs.
Peter brings over twenty-five years of consulting to his work with PI’s clients. He has been an innovator in the use of knowledge-enabled performance support systems to improve performance in a wide range of organizations.
Peter began his consulting career with McKinsey & Company, focusing in IT strategy and performance improvement. Following that he led the Performance Innovation group at Renaissance Solutions (a leader in Balanced Scorecard and Performance Innovation) and then led the CRM and eHR practices at Nextera Solutions. For the last 15 years he has led his own firm working on organizational transformation, client experience, process innovation, and machine learning/predictive analysis.
Peter’s focus on performance support solutions combines elements of on-line training (CBT) with Learning Management System (LMS) and performance enhancing portals that support continuous improvement. He is currently working with an NGO on a performance support system for remote, disconnected villages to provide them with appropriate community development technology. Peter also has over 20 apps in the Apple and Android app stores that he has developed. He started his career developing video games for Atari at General Computer Co.
Peter has an SB and SM degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Computer Science, focusing on Artificial Intelligence.
